Art Attack
Art Attack Blog, Week 5, term 3

With Mr Forman I learned about colour and how it's made of white light and we also learnt about complementary colours.
With Mr Rule I looked at the different landscape features of Canterbury and Banks Peninsula.

My Student lead conference
On Monday I had my S.L.C. (Student lead conference). Here are some things that I would like to share.
How I felt about it - I was very excited to show my learning to my parents because I had prepared my learning well.
What was good about it - My teacher said that I had improved a lot in reading since the start of the year.
What I might do differently next time - I might change the way I write my goals because they weren't that creative.
What was challenging - Something that I felt was challenging is trying to stay calm because I was so excited.
What my parents thought - My parents thought I did very well and I know this because they said I did very well and they got me some lollies afterwards.
Here is the link to my S.L.C slide.

Maths
What is my learning goal - IALT solve problems like 73-19 by first subtracting a tidy number and then adding on a small number to get the answer.
What have I learned - I've learned to round a number to the nearest ten to make it eg. 70 instead of 67 so it is easy to subtract a problem like eg. 67-34=?.
What is my next step - My next step is to round numbers to the nearest hundred to make it easy to subtract.

Retocrorical Reading
What?
I am learning how to do a cloze activity to help me with my reading
Being able to make logical predictions about what word would fit correctly into a sentence is a successful read`er strategy.
So What?
We use the following procedures:
- Read the whole text so that we can get an overall picture of the text.
- Re-read the text and think of words that would fit into the gaps. Write them down
- Look at the word list for this activity and see if I am correct / make changes
Now What?
A = I am independent. I read the text, select words that I feel logically and grammatically fit, and then I use the word list to confirm my predictions and / or make some small changes.
